25 May 2018 – Golden Agri-Resources (GAR) welcomes the Indonesian Government’s plan to issue a regulation requiring the blending of 25 percent biodiesel (B25) early next year. The proposal was announced by the Energy and Mineral Resources of the Republic Indonesia Minister Ignasius Jonan last Wednesday (23/05). The new regulation will be a further increase of the current blending mandate of 20 percent biodiesel (B20). The implementation of the new target will bring the country closer to reach the 30 percent biodiesel mix target in 2020.

GAR is encouraged by the government’s plan to increase the biodiesel mix to 25 percent which will not only support the domestic Crude Palm Oil market, but will also support the country’s effort to reach self-sufficiency in energy while reducing greenhouse gas emissions.

As per April 2018, GAR has built two biodiesel plants in South Kalimantan and Marunda, near Jakarta. The first biodiesel plant in South Kalimantan was completed in 2016 and the second plant begun operation in second quarter of 2017. Together the two plants have a total capacity of close to 900,000 kiloLiter per annum.
