PT SMART Tbk has coordinated with Rungkut COVID-19 Task Force in Surabaya, to ensure the health and safety of all employees and the community surrounding the refinery area in Rungkut, Surabaya.
Since the company received information related to a few COVID-19 clusters in Surabaya in mid-April, the company has taken proactive measures to ensure the health and safety for all our employees.
As part of early screening, the company has conducted rapid tests of 140 employees who are living with/have a family member who works at one of the identified COVID-19 clusters in the area. This week, we aim to finish conducting rapid testing of all 900 employees and outsourced staff who work in our refinery in Rungkut.
Employees who have non-reactive test results and have no COVID-19 symptoms are allowed back to work. Meanwhile, employees with COVID-19 symptoms and/or a reactive result from the rapid test must self-quarantine and have a swab test at the medical facility appointed by the company.
To minimise COVID-19 spread in the operational area, the company is not only tracing and conducting rapid tests of employees but also implementing strict COVID-19 SOP, to ensure all employees are in good health, especially during working hours.
The company also conducts routine coordination with Surabaya Health Department and COVID-19 Task Force in terms of mitigation action and reporting company operations to the Ministry of Industry.
The company’s operational procedure follows the Food Safety Management system and CPPOB (Good Manufacturing Practices/GMP) to ensure our quality products are safe for consumption.
The health and safety of our employees, and preventing the spread of COVID-19 are our main priorities. We encourage employees and communities to maintain self-hygiene at all times by washing hands regularly, applying social distancing, and wearing a mask when out of the home and at work.
