Powering a sustainable future
Golden Agri-Resources (GAR) produces biodiesel from responsibly sourced crude palm oil (CPO). We operate two biodiesel plants – one near Jakarta and another in South Kalimantan that produce over 600,000 tonnes of high-quality biodiesel per annum.
Both plants are strategically located for integrated and efficient operations. They are situated close to our downstream operations, ensuring a steady supply of raw materials as well as seamless integration of the feedstock to production line. The plants are also located near a dedicated jetty, ensuring easy distribution of biodiesel to domestic and international markets.
Our technical experts focus on stringent quality control in production processes, and are supported by a dedicated biodiesel laboratory, which result in fuel purity and consistent product quality.
What makes GAR’s palm-derived biodiesel the better choice?
Sustainably produced palm oil (the feedstock for our biodiesel) plays a key role in bioenergy and the fight against climate change. Here’s why?
Biodiesel is made from renewable sources unlike conventional diesel which is made from fossil fuels.
Biodiesel releases only one fourth the amount of carbon dioxide (a greenhouse gas) that conventional diesel releases, making it an environmentally friendly alternative to fossil fuels.
Oil palms have the highest yield, by far, compared to other sources of biodiesel such as soybean and canola, making palm oil the most economical feedstock for biodiesel.
In Indonesia, the government implemented the B30 biodiesel mandate (30 percent palm oil, 70 percent diesel) in 2020, spiking demand for palm oil domestically. Many other countries have also recognised the benefits of biodiesel and have followed suit.
Renewable, environmentally friendly, and cost-effective – GAR’s palm-derived biodiesel, is truly the fuel of the future.
