Every year, GAR publishes its Sustainability Report which contains essential information on how the company is doing in fulfilling its commitments on responsible palm oil. This includes tracking our progress on forest conservation; supporting our local communities through community development programmes; transforming and helping our supply chain become more responsible and resilient; as well as monitoring and reporting on our employees’ wellbeing. A lot of people, time and resources are involved in producing the report and telling these important stories.
Here are some interesting facts behind the Sustainability Report.

The Sustainability Report is in its 7th edition – we have been publishing the SR since 2011 and are considered an experienced reporter by SGX.

Over 70 staff from 40 units/departments contributed data to the report

It takes 6 months to collect and check the data, write, design, review and publish the report.

The SR tracks our progress on our commitments in GAR Social and Environmental Policy (GSEP), Company Code of Conduct and other policies

The SR also measures our progress on the UN Sustainable Development Goals.

>300 data points are captured in report

Our reports are based on the most widely-used, internationally-recognised reporting standards – the Global Reporting Initiative (GRI)

Disseminated to our key stakeholders through website, webinars and events.

Townhalls, workshops and mini-seminars are organised for our staff on how to provide data and the highlights of the latest SR

Our sustainability reporting has been recognised as among the best in Asia.
